COMMUNITY SERVICE

Our crew strives to build a strong sense of community by addressing poverty, mental health, and education among the youth within local Chicago-land areas. Our work includes: creating food and care packages, raising money for students in need of financial aid, spreading awareness for the mental health crisis in adolescence, and much more! 1 For Community understands how crucial volunteerism impacts the livelihood of a community, and how our small acts of service have and will build unity within it.

1 For Community recognizes the importance of a strong community– including both the people in it and the environment that surrounds it. Therefore, our organization utilities numerous social media platforms to help us connect with a larger audience quicker and gain momentum for our cause.

Our aim is to form a unified community through efforts to help those who are less fortunate. Our work includes initiating and funding donations and creating/participating in volunteer events. To strengthen our efforts, 1 For Community partners with other organizations, such as The Josselyn Center, with goals parallel to ours to become one step closer to a healthy, unified community. Through gathering groups of people– all with different backgrounds– we uplift those who are struggling in hard times, building a strong community spirit and bond.
